It tells the story of a 10-year old girl who is abandoned by her mom. Gillian Jacobs........................Jacobs was born in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. Her mother, Martina Magenau Jacobs was a Carnegie Mellon University director of alumni relations at the Heinz College. William F. Jacobs Jr., her father was a banker in investment. Lebanon. She is French German Irish and Scottish roots. Her family in 1847 founded the Jackson Koehler Eagle Brewery located in Erie Pennsylvania. John Martin Magenau Jr. served as its President and COO until it closed in 1978. Jacobs began her acting studies at the age of 8 and attended acting classes on Saturdays in the Pittsburgh Playhouse while growing up.She participated in The Pittsburgh Public Theater where she had a regular place for the public's Shakespeare Monologue Contest leading her to being cast as Titania in the performance of A Midsummer Night's Dream. Mt. Lebanon High School the year 2000, Jacobs moved into New York City New York for a place at her studies at the Juilliard School where she was a member of Drama Division's Group 33.
